These Samsung Galaxy devices lost Android Auto support

Android Auto’s boost in advancement is why the older Samsung Galaxy devices lost their compatibility with it. A few Samsung Galaxy devices lost Android Auto support, since Google increased the minimum Android version requirement to support Android Auto.  

Google increased the Android version requirement to use Android Auto

Android Auto is a part of Google’s workspace. Now Google is expanding the eligibility criteria to use Android Auto. 

Two years ago, each Android smartphone running on Android 6 and above was compatible with Android Auto. In 2022, Google expanded the eligibility criteria to use Android Auto for smartphones, regarding which they must run Android 8 or higher versions.

Now Google claims that, to access the car interface via Android Auto your smartphone must run at least Android 9 version. However, the terms for the Galaxy smartphones are different. 

A few Samsung Galaxy devices lost Android Auto support 

All the Samsung Galaxy phones that run Android 8 are currently compatible with Android Auto. now with the new set of announcements, Samsung phones should run on Android 10 version to use Android Auto. 

Now Galaxy users only connect their Galaxy devices with Android Auto if their phone at least runs the Android 10 version or higher.

However, a few particular Samsung Galaxy devices are still eligible to use Android Auto with the Android 9 version, which is as follows – 

  • Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy Note 8

If you own any of the devices mentioned above and it is running on the Android 9 version then still it’s compatible with Android Auto.
