Samsung released the first software update for the Galaxy Watch FE. And this first update is a major update. The company has started rolling out the One UI 6 Watch stable update for the Galaxy Watch FE. The update is distributed in every region, including Europe, America, Asia, and Australia.
Galaxy Watch FE, Watch 4, and Watch 4 Classic One UI 6 Watch update details
Galaxy Watch FE is getting this Wear OS 5 upgrade with firmware version R861XXU1BXI4. Users have to download almost 1.76GB of update package size to install it. And the security patch level of the watch is September 2024.
Along with the Watch FE, the Galaxy Watch 4 series also started getting the stable One UI 6 Watch based on the Wear OS 5 update. For Galaxy Watch 4, the update is available on both Bluetooth and LTE models. Further, Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic users can identify the update with build numbers R87xXXU1IXK1 and R89xXXU1IXK1, respectively.
For the Galaxy Watch 4 series, the update is currently rolling out in South Korea, which comes in a download package size of 1.5GB. And it also included the October 2024 security patch for the device.
One UI 6 Watch based on Wear OS 5
Moreover, One UI 6 Watch is a Wear OS 5-based update that brings many new features, functionalities, and improvements to these Galaxy watches. The company has already released this major update to the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 5 series. However, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, both watches, were released on One UI 6 Watch.
