After waiting for so many months, Samsung finally released the One UI 7 beta program on 5th December. The Korean tech giant has currently released this program for Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra devices. As of now, this beta program is limited to 4 countries: Germany, Korea, the UK, and the US.
Before the official version, Samsung released the One UI 7 beta program, which may include various bugs and issues. These beta programs are released so that the company can learn about issues and bugs that were not found in internal testing.
These issues are reported by users after testing the entire user interface, after which the company resolves the remaining issues and releases a stable version to the public that has no issues with the functionality.
If you have accidentally installed this beta program on your primary phone and are facing problems in your daily tasks, then you can get One UI 6 back by rolling back from the One UI 7 beta program.
One UI 7 to One UI 6 rollback process
Galaxy S24 users can rollback from One UI 7 to One UI 6 using either of the two methods mentioned here below.
In this first method, you can easily withdraw from the One UI 7 beta program using the Samsung Members app.
- First, go to “Settings.”
- Now select the “One UI Beta Program status”.
- Here tap on the “Withdraw” menu and follow the on-screen instructions.
In the second method, Galaxy device users can roll back to One UI 6 from One UI 7 with the Smart Switch PC application.
If you backed up your device data to your computer with Smart Switch, you can restore the data after the rollback process. To perform the rollback, connect the device to your computer with a USB cable. On the computer, launch the Smart Switch application, and select “Downgrade“. If you need assistance having your software rolled back to the latest approved version you can request the location to the nearest Service Center.
Note: Keep in mind that any data you may have generated during the beta program or downloaded separately may be completely deleted in some scenarios. So users must back up their important data on their Galaxy device before any new upgrade or downgrade.
However, the company is also going to launch a beta program soon in 2 more countries, India and Poland. But the beta program is still only available for Galaxy S24 series devices. According to the previous leaks, Samsung may release it for the Galaxy S23 at the end of this month.
