Android 16 exact release date leaked
Google recently released Android 15 for its eligible Pixel smartphones and has already started preparing for the next iteration, Android 16. In a blog post, Google announced it will release the next OS update sooner than the usual timeline.
A report from Android Headlines leaked the exact date for the Android 16 release: June 3, 2025. This means that the next major OS update will be released in the first half of the year instead of the second half.

The report claims that Google will make the coming OS update live on June 3, 2025, for its Pixel devices. The update will be available on the AOSP simultaneously as it starts rolling out to Pixel devices.
Why is Google releasing Android 16 sooner?
Google has yet to release the exact reason behind releasing sooner release. However, it seems to ensure that it will be available on new devices in the fall.
The early release will also be beneficial for Google to push out smaller updates throughout the entire 2025. It will result in AI-powered features and authorizing faster development and integration.
Early Android 16 release could result in sooner One UI 8
Samsung usually rolls out its latest One UI iteration just a few days after the latest Android OS releases. By this prospect, Samsung could release this One UI 8 in the first half, since Android 16 will go line on June 3 as reported.
The Korean giant can start working on the latest OS version to customize it with One UI 8 and offer it to Galaxy smartphones sooner than the usual timeline.
