Samsung is rolling out new OTA updates for the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S21 FE. Both Fan Editions are getting January 2025 Android security patches with new OTA updates. This new update for the Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE is currently spotted on network-locked models in the US. However, the S21 FE has already received this update on many carriers a few days ago, and now Verizon has also released the update for this device.
By now, dozens of Galaxy devices have received the January update, including the Galaxy S24, S23, Fold6, Flip6, and more. Today Samsung started distributing the latest security update for one of the best Fan Edition smartphones, the Galaxy S20 FE.
It is currently available on T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Verizon, Dish Wireless, and US Cellular carriers for the Galaxy S20 FE, and the update can be identified with its new firmware version G781USQSJHXJ1. On the other hand, Verizon-locked Galaxy S21 FE units are receiving it with build version G990U2SQSCGXL4 or G990USQSEGXL4.
The update for Galaxy devices contains more than 50 Android security patches to address security vulnerabilities. These security fixes improve the device’s overall security, which can reduce the risk of security flaws.
