Following the Galaxy S24 series, the December 2024 update has also been released for its predecessors in Europe. Last week the Galaxy S24 series devices, including the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, received the December update. Now the Korean tech giant distributed the latest security update to the Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 in Europe.
December 2024 update details
The update is distributed for the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra with build versions G991BXXSEGXK1, G996BXXSEGXK1, and G998BXXSEGXK1, respectively. While Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra users are receiving December 2024 security patches with build versions S901BXXSDEXKA, S906BXXSDEXKA, and S908BXXSDEXKA, respectively.
For the Galaxy S23 series, the latest security update is dispatched with build versions S911BXXS7CXK6, S916BXXS7CXK6, and S918BXXS7CXK6 for the S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra, respectively. Users should install these security updates to protect their Galaxy devices from security flaws.
The update for the Galaxy S21 and S22 does not bring any new features, but for the Galaxy S23 it includes a new functionality in Auto Blocker. However, these devices are getting new Android security patches to address security vulnerabilities.
To check the latest update, go to the Settings menu and then click on the Software Update option. Now the system will automatically check for the update. Once it is available, download and install it.
