How many software updates will Galaxy Watch FE get?

Samsung introduced its ever-first Fan Edition (FE) Galaxy smartwatch last month named, Galaxy Watch FE. Since it is the very first FE variant in the Galaxy smartwatch family, this increases the curiosity to know about its software support. Samsung Galaxy Watch FE 

The Korean brand announced the Galaxy Watch FE back in June. In a way, it’s a refined variant of the older Galaxy Watch 4, as both feature almost similar specs. 

The recently launched Galaxy Watch features a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 396 x 396 pixels resolution. It is powered by Exynos W920 (5nm) chipset. The memory package includes 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

It runs  Android Wear OS 4-based One UI Watch 5 out of the box. But being the first Galaxy FE smartwatch how many software updates will Galaxy Watch FE get is a noteworthy fact. 

How many Wear OS updates will the Galaxy Watch FE get? 

Currently, the watch is running on Wear OS 4, One UI Watch 5. Samsung has promised three years of major Android Wear OS  updates and years of security patches. 

  • Galaxy Watch FE will get – Three Wear OS updates and four years of Security patches. 

According to this software update policy, the Galaxy Watch FE will get up to Wear OS 8 update and security patches till 2027. 

With these future updates, the watch will benefit from new features to offer upgraded system software over time. The security updates will improve the system security of the watch to add an extra layer of security and privacy, and will also fix the bugs and known issues.

The Bluetooth-only version of the Galaxy Watch FE costs $199.99. The brand has already made the watch available in markets if you are interested you can easily purchase the watch from the market or directly from Samsung’s official website.
