January 2025 update for Galaxy S23 is rolling out in Europe, Asia, and Korea

Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy S25 series at the Unpacked 2025 event. With this busy schedule, they also managed to release the monthly security update on time for their Galaxy devices, showing the company’s intention for their users software experience.

Galaxy S23 January update information

Galaxy S23 series devices are getting the January 2025 update in Europe, Asia, and South Korea regions. European and Asian Galaxy S23 users can recognize the update with new firmware versions S911BXXS7CXL2, S916BXXS7CXL2, and S918BXXS7CXL2 for the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra, respectively. On the other hand, Korean units are receiving it with firmware versions S911BXXS7CXL2, S916BXXS7CXL2, and S918BXXS7CXL2.

According to the changelog, the update enhanced system stability for both series devices, and the January 2025 update fixed over 50 security vulnerabilities, in which 5 CVEs are critical and around 24 are high level. Around 22 patches are from Samsung for its Galaxy devices apps and functionalities security fixes.

However, it does not include any new features for the Galaxy S23 series units, and it is expected that this update should be expanded in other regions in the coming days. In addition, users can check the update availability by navigating to Settings >> Software Update >> Download and Install.
