January 2025 update reached the Galaxy S24 in the US for non-One UI 7 beta units

Following Korea, some carriers also started rolling out the January 2025 update for Galaxy S24 devices in the US. As of writing, the update is released for both unlocked and locked units. For carrier-locked Galaxy S24 devices, it is spotted on T-Mobile, Metro PCS, and US Cellular networks.

Galaxy S24 January 2025 update details

Unlocked units of the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra are getting this update with build versions S921U1UES4AXL2, S926U1UES4AXL2, and S928U1UES4AXL2, respectively. The download size for the update is 432.91 MB.

On the flip side, T-Mobile and Metro PCS locked Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra units are getting it with firmware versions S921USQS4AXL3, S926USQS4AXL3, and S928USQS4AXL3, respectively. While US Cellular network-locked units are getting with build versions S921USQS4AXL2, S926USQS4AXL2, and S928USQS4AXL2.

The January 2025 update includes more than 50 patches to address a number of critical and high-level vulnerabilities. Apart from the security patches, it improves system stability and overall performance.

Recently the One UI 7 beta 3 was announced for all three units of the Galaxy S24 series. Beta 3 comes with new fixes and improvements with the January 2024 Android security patches for the S24 series.
