Yesterday the Korean tech giant announced the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 to experience One UI 7 features ahead of its official release. The One UI 7 brings lots of new features, enhancements, functionalities, more Galaxy AI features, new app icons, amazing animations, and more.

Most of the features are the same as the Galaxy S24 series received with the One UI 7 beta update, but for Fold6 there are a few extra functionalities to improve the foldable device experience. In the Fold6, One UI 7 adds three new options in the App Continuity feature: Always, Swipe to continue, and Never. Previously in One UI 6.1.1, there was only an “all apps” toggle to switch the App Continuity feature on or off.

As now the feature is spotted on the Galaxy Z Fold6, it could be expanded to more older Fold devices with One UI 7.

What is the App Continuity feature?

Samsung Foldables users know this feature very well; it allows users to keep using applications on the cover screen when switching from the foldable screen. This is a very useful and popular feature among Galaxy Z Fold device owners. And now, with these improved functions, the experience of this feature is now much better.

How the Swipe to Continue option works

After enabling the Swipe to continue option, whenever you switch from the foldable to the cover screen, you will see a new swipe option. If you swipe on the lock screen, you can continue using the app on the cover screen that you are using on the foldable screen. If you don’t sweep, the Fold phone will be locked.
