The Korean tech brand ‘Samsung’ is aggressively developing One UI 7 based on Android 15. The next major update is expected to bring the Super HDR feature to older flagship Galaxy smartphones.
It’s been speculated since Google could force Samsung to expand the Super HDR on its mid-range phones running with Android 15.

Usually, Google releases a new Android version with a new Performance Class. Now Google is all set to release the Android 15 anytime soon. The update will bring Performance Class 15 and one of the requirements of Performance Class 15 is support for Ultra HDR for the main camera at the front and the rear.
It suggests the brands looking forward to Performance Class 15 will be required to equip their devices with Ultra HDR capabilities.
By this prospect, it’s expected that Samsung could bring Super HDR to more Galaxy devices with One UI 7 since it’s based on Android 15.
Samsung Super HDR feature
Samsung exclusively introduced the Super HDR to the Galaxy S24 smartphones. Super HDR is a technology used in photography and videography to capture a wider range of colors.
The Super HDR is based on Ultra HDR, it allows for more detailed images, especially in scenes with high contrast; like bright sunlight & shadows.

It enhances the overall capturing experience. Without HDR displays, phones ignore that data and show those pictures in SDR.
However, the company confirmed that it won’t bring Super HDR to older Galaxy devices. Now finally the new report suggests that it could bring.
