One UI 7 Hidden feature: Double Tap, Quick Access 

Android 15-based One UI 7 brings several impressive features everyone knows about, but we have found a hidden shortcut feature that prevents you time-consuming steps.

Samsung with One UI 7 adds more app support for the double-press function on the power button. This will let you open the particular shortcut of the app directly by double-pressing the power button. 

Everyone is busy noticing the One UI 7 features appearing in front of the eyes, which are as follows – 

  • New AI features, Updated Icons, New Camera UI, advanced Battery settings, more rounded UI elements, Now Bar, Live Notification, etc.

All these features are quite convenient, but the update also has some hidden features that we have noticed. Let’s closely examine the One UI 7’s hidden shortcut feature. 

One UI 7 brings more app shortcut support to open by double-tapping the power button 

Until One UI 6.1.1, Samsung only offered three app support to open by double pressing the power button, as mentioned below – 

  • Camera 
  • Quick launch Samsung Wallet 
  • Open Apps

Earlier, you had only 3 options, which you could choose to open by double-pressing the power button.

Now, Samsung, with One UI 7, adds more app shortcut support, such as opening by double-tapping to access apps quickly.

Supported App Shortcut list to open directly via the power button 

  • Camera 
  • Quick Launch Samsung Wallet 
  • Torch 
  • Magnifier 
  • Voice Recorder 
  • Samsung Notes 
  • Samsung Capture 
  • Modes and Routines 
  • Apps 

You can set any of them to open directly when you double-press the power button. Noticeably, a settings icon will appear in front of each app’s name. When you tap on the settings icon, it will showcase the specific shortcut options of the app. You can choose any of them to set to open via double-press.

For Instance, when you tap on Camera’s setting icon, it will showcase four options – 

  • Open Camera, Record Video, Take Portrait, Take Selfie 

Supposedly, if you choose the “Take Portrait” option, then when you double-press the power button, instantly the portrait mode of the camera will open. 

This enhancement streamlines access to instantly used app features and saves time compared to the ritually app opening process.
