2025 is full of surprises for Samsung Galaxy users, but 2026 will leave a mark on One UI’s history! Yes, Samsung is planning big by introducing One UI 8.5 with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026.

Samsung’s current One UI status

Currently, Samsung is still busy with the Android 15-based

release. It has started the stable One UI 7 rollout from April 7 for selected Galaxy devices in Korea.

Now it is continuously extending the update to more regions. Today Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S9, Fold 5, and Flip 5 received the One UI 7 stable update in Korea. It is expected that the company will finish the rollout by July.

Moving forward, after One UI 7, One UI 8 is the next step for Samsung. Google is about to release the stable Android 16 in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Android 16-based One UI 8 leaks and rumors have already started blowing in the market.

Samsung is expected to introduce the stable One UI 8 with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. A few days back, the first One UI 8 sneak peek has already surfaced online.

All of a sudden, beyond expectation, a new report is creating a buzz in the market regarding Samsung’s next software iteration, One UI 8.5.

Samsung to take a long jump, One UI 8.5 directly from One UI 8

Samsung usually releases One UI iterations, basically in three steps, including One UI x.0, x.1, x.1.1. Now, according to a new report, Samsung is working on introducing the One UI 8.5 software version directly after One UI 8.0.

A report from SammyPolice revealed that a few new code strings were spotted on the company’s official server, which hints at the next major software iteration, One UI 8.5.

Reportedly, the next-generation Galaxy S26 series could debut on the One UI 8.5 version out of the box. However, currently, it’s hard to accept this, since it’s the first time in the history of One UI, but the buzz is so loud, so it will be interesting to see whether this report will come true.
