Samsung is setting up for its next major OS update: Android 16-based One UI 8. It is anticipated to bring dozens of new features, notable changes, and twerks, including Samsung DeX, to the Galaxy Z Flip lineup.
According to our reliable insider, Samsung DeX will be available on the Galaxy Z Flip lineup starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, based on One UI 8.
This means that the latest Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be the first device in the Flip lineup to be compatible with Samsung Dex. However, it remains to confirm whether the One UI 8 will bring DeX to older Galaxy Flip devices.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 release date
Samsung will debut the Galaxy Z Flip 7 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked event in the first week of July 2025.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be powered by an in-house Exynos 2500 chipset with 12GB of RAM. It will run Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. It is expected to be 6.94mm thick while unfolded and 9.17mm thick including the camera bump. The dimensions of the device will be 166.61 x 75.23 x 6.84mm.
