Samsung could ditch the Galaxy S25+ from the Galaxy S25 series

Samsung is about half a year away from to debut of the next-generation Galaxy S25 series. This time the series could only include two variants; Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25, this means Galaxy S25+ is not a part of the series. Let’s take a deep look at this report.

Samsung could ditch the Galaxy S25+ variant from the Galaxy S25 series 

Ritually, the Korean brand releases three variants in each Galaxy S-series, including, the Base, Plus, and Ultra variants. For instance, the recently launched Galaxy S24 series which includes, Galaxy 24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. 

However, it’s not the case for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series anymore. The new report suggests that Samsung could ditch the middle one the ‘Plus’ variant called Galaxy S25+ of the series. This means that the Galaxy S25 series could only bring two models; Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

This report is being speculated by a tipster on X named @yabhishekhd, who suggests “Samsung to ditch Galaxy S25+ model from S25 series” as per the reports of AndroidHeadlines. 

Galaxy S25 release date 

The Korean giant usually debuts its premium S-series in each early year, like the Galaxy S24 launched in January 2024, and last year the Galaxy S23 debuted in February 2023. 

Following the launching schedule timeline of the previous Galaxy S-series, the upcoming Galaxy S25 is also expected to debut between January and February 2025.

Galaxy S25 expected specs 

Previous report says that the entire Galaxy S25 series could have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Now a recent report suggests that Samsung consider MediaTek chips for these Galaxy S25 series models. However, the company has yet to confirm it officially. 

The brand could offer a massive camera upgrade in telephoto lenses. The camera setup could include; a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP telephoto 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP super-telephoto with 5x optical zoom. 

It will run Android 15-based One UI 7.1 out of the box. It might be possible it does not bring any major upgrades in battery capacity. It will be interesting to see actually what new novelties the next-generation Galaxy 25 series will bring.
