Today the Korean tech giant releases the December 2024 Security Maintenance Release, in which the company details the December security patches and removes an A-series smartphone from software support. The Galaxy A42 5G device has been removed from software support, so it will not receive any monthly updates.

The device was shipped with Android 10, and then it received its two major upgrades in the form of Android 11 and 12, respectively.
