Samsung is this close to launching the next-generation Galaxy S25 series along with the support of seamless updates.
The Korean giant is all set to host the Galaxy Unpacked event next year on 22 January. At the event, the company will debut the Galaxy S25 series. The series is confirmed to support seamless updates.
What is a seamless update?
Seamless updates allow users to use their smartphones continuously when an over-the-air (OTA) update is downloaded and installed in the background.

The seamless updates are also known as A/B system updates. Where A stands for the current software version on which the device runs. Where B stands for the new version. When B is downloaded and installed on a separate storage partition, A is still running.
Samsung Galaxy S25 to support Seamless update
The Korean tech giant is planning to adopt the Seamless Update strategy for the second time. Initially, it adopted this strategy with its newly launched mid-range Galaxy A55.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series devices will be the second Galaxy devices to support seamless updates. It is being speculated by the report from one of our colleagues, Android Authority, that Samsung will offer seamless update support to the Galaxy S25 series.

According to the report, the leaked files confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will support seamless updates.
Samsung Galaxy S25 software update policy
The Galaxy S25 series will include three variants, including Base, Plus, and Ultra. The entire series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It will run Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box.
Samsung will offer seven years of software support to the Galaxy S25 series. This means the series will receive seven major Android OS updates and security patches for up to seven years.
It will run Android 15 out of this box, which means it will receive up to Android 22. And security patches till 2032.
