The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is on the way to bringing about a new revolution in the tech industry. The ultra variant of the series; Galaxy S25 Ultra should bring a 42MP selfie camera. Here’s why
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra should feature a 42MP selfie camera
The forthcoming Galaxy S25 series is a hot topic among fans. Especially, the hype of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is already touching the sky.
To make the hype come true Samsung should offer a 42MP front camera to the ultra variant of the series to enhance the selfie experience. The recently launched Google Pixel 9 Pro has a 42MP selfie camera. Now to stand as a tough competitor Samsung should upgrade its selfie camera to at least the ultra variant of the series.

If this expectation comes true, the company will ditch its ritual of offering a 12MP selfie camera. Usually, Galaxy S series smartphones feature a 12MP selfie camera. Let’s take a closer look at the selfie cameras of the Galaxy S series smartphones –
- Galaxy S24 Ultra – 12 MP, f/2.2, 26mm (wide), dual pixel PDAF
- Galaxy S23 Ultra- 12 MP, f/2.2, 26mm (wide), dual pixel PDAF
- Galaxy S22 Ultra – 40 MP, f/2.2, 26mm (wide), 1/2.82″, 0.7µm, PDAF
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 40MP camera. From the Galaxy S23 series, the company switched on a 12MP lens. This suggests that it’s not difficult for the company to offer a high MP lens.
