Following the delay in the One UI 7 release for older Galaxy models, the One UI 8 leaks and rumors start surfacing online. This year Samsung failed to fulfill its timely major upgrade commitment as the One UI 7 stable version is still not available for eligible Galaxy devices.
Due to the delay of several months in One UI 7, now Samsung can skip the sub-updates of One UI 7, including One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1, so that there is no delay in One UI 8. This leak is shared by a well-known tipster, Ice Universe, on its X post. The tipster said there is no One UI 7.1 or 7.1.1; the next One UI update will be the Android 16-based One UI 8 after the One UI 7 based on Android 15.
One UI 7.x.x version features
Now Samsung fans are wondering what will happen to the features coming in One UI 7.x.x versions. However, there is nothing officially confirmed about One UI 7.1 availability, features, or cancellation. Probably the company may include One UI 7.1 and other updated features in the One UI 8 upgrade.
Many features, including 10-bit HDR, instant slow-mo, 8K ultra-wide recording, and more features, were expected to come with One UI 7.1, but now these functionalities may come with One UI 8. In addition, the Android 16-based One UI is expected to come with more productivity features and more visual enhancements.
