Following the Galaxy S24 series, the company also pushed the February 2025 update to the Galaxy S22 series. However, the S24 series received the February update in Korea, but the Galaxy S22 series started receiving it in Russia and European regions.
The February 2025 update comes with the build versions S901BXXSDEYA1, S906BXXSDEYA1, and S908BXXSDEYA1 for the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra, respectively. The brand-new firmware comes in a download package of 309 MB for the Galaxy S22 series.
The February 2025 update does not include new features for the S22 series, but it comes with the latest Android security patches to address security vulnerabilities, and also the update improves system stability in some scenarios.
Last time, the Galaxy S22 series received a January update almost two weeks ago. However, for a long time, users have been expecting the One UI 7 update for these flagship units. But alas, so far only the S24 series has received the One UI 7 upgrade, and that too in beta form. The stable update has also not been released for the Galaxy S24 yet, so it looks like S22 users may have to wait for a few more weeks.
These smartphones were announced almost three years ago with Android 12, and they are still eligible for up to Android 16 based One UI 8. Thanks to Samsung for longer software support.
