Samsung is budding a new affordable smartphone under the Galaxy A-series called Galaxy A36. Before the official launch, the Galaxy A36 camera specs already surfaced online.
Samsung is already setting up to debut its flagship Galaxy S25 and a mid-range Galaxy A56 in early 2025. Now the Galaxy A36 leaked started surfacing online.
Samsung Galaxy A36 to feature a 12MP front camera
If the latest report is to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy A36 will feature a 12MP sensor for selfie camera.

Usually, Samsung offers a 13MP sensor for a selfie camera in its Galaxy A3x lineup. Let’s take a closer look at the selfie cameras of previous models –
- Galaxy A35 – 13MP selfie camera
- Galaxy A34 – 13MP selfie camera
Now the next-generation Galaxy A36 is rumored to feature a 12MP selfie camera.

Apart from the 12MP selfie camera, the Galaxy A36 will feature a triple camera setup including different camera sensors which are as follows –
- 50MP main camera
- 5MP macro camera
- 8MP ultrawide camera
Switching 13MP sensor from 12MP is an upgrade?
Reportedly, the new 12MP sensor of the Galaxy A36 should deliver better selfies and clearer video calls as compared to the current 13MP sensors. If the expectation comes true, then it will be an upgrade, since the megapixels of the sensors are just a number, and quality matters most.
Noticeably, the Samsung Galaxy A56 is also rumored to feature a 12MP selfie camera same as the Galaxy A36. However, even after having the same 12MP sensor, there will be a difference between both. Since there’s no official statement regarding this report, so we can’t blindly rely on the leaked camera specs at least for now.
Galaxy A36 release date and price
The company could launch the Galaxy A36 alongside the Galaxy A56 sometime in the first half. For now, there are no official or any other details regarding the price. But since the device belongs to an affordable series it’s expected that it could price between €350 and €400.
