Samsung started setting up to expand its Galaxy S-series by launching a net-generation, Galaxy S25 series. The series will bring up as usual three variants, base, plus, and ultra. The Galaxy S25 Ultra camera upgrade more details have emerged now.
The Korean giant has already set a high bar for camera upgrades on its recently launched Galaxy S24 Ultra. This directly suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera is expected to shake up the market.
Galaxy S25 Ultra camera specifications
- Galaxy S25 Ultra rear camera – 200MP with OIS, Laser, and PDAF
- Galaxy S25 Ultra telephoto camera – 50MP 1/3-inch ISOCELL sensor with 3x optical zoom and OIS
- Galaxy S25 Ultra ultrawide camera – 50MP 1/2.76-inch ISOCELL JN1
- Galaxy S25 Ultra selfie camera – 12MP
Without any official announcement, it was reported that the Galaxy S25 Ultra camera upgrade would bring a quad-camera setup that included – a 200MP primary rear camera and three 50MP telephoto and ultrawide cameras.
A new report suggests that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 50MP ultrawide camera with a newer version of the 1/2.76-inch ISOCELL JN1 camera sensor. It is tinier than the 12MP Ultrawide sensor housed on the Galaxy S24 Ultra but coupled with 4x resolution.

On the other hand, it’s reported that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 1/3-inch 50MP ISOCELL with a 3x optical zoom telephoto camera. It is a bit greater as compared to the 10MP sensor housed on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature a 12MP selfie camera similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
What upgrades should the Galaxy S25 Ultra camera bring?
We expect that Galaxy S25 Ultra should couple cameras with OIS for enhanced shake resistance and higher image quality in low-light scenarios except the ultrawide. All the rear cameras on the phone should use EIS at all resolutions and frame rates. The Korean giant has yet to announce the official specs of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera.

If all the mentioned Galaxy S25 Ultra camera’s upgrade comes true, then it should be able to record 4K 60fps, 4K 120fps, and 8K 30fps videos. However, it is hard to expect that Samsung will offer real-time switching between the rear cameras while recording 8K videos.
