Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy S25 series offers a few exclusive feature, among which two are not anticipated to arrive on older Galaxy S-series devices with one UI 7. Let’s take a closer look.
Samsung to skip Galaxy S25 feature with One UI 7 for older S-series devices
Samsung is still actively working on releasing the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 for older Galaxy devices. Last month it debuted the Galaxy S25 series based on One UI 7, bringing a few exclusive features.
Samsung plans to expand the Galaxy S25 feature to older Galaxy S-series devices with the One UI 7 update. Although, against this expectation, there are a few features that Samsung could not expand on older devices.
A reliable tipster, Tarun Vats, shared a post on X, claiming that Samsung may not expand the two Galaxy S25 features to more devices, as follows –
- 10-bit HDR video recording
- Gallery natural language search
However, Samsung has not revealed any official information regarding this report yet so it remains to see whether it will come true.
What is the 10-bit HDR video recording feature?
The 10-bit HDR video recording is a feature under the Galaxy S25’s camera app. It lets you record video in 10-bit color depth and HDR, which all fits under the HLG format. Although, it is anticipated to remain Galaxy S25 exclusive.
What is Gallery natural language search?
Samsung introduced an AI-powered Gallery search with the Galaxy S25 series. It permits you to locate photos in your Gallery app by simply typing in natural language phrases. This prevents time while searching photos enhances the searching experience and makes it more intuitive.
Previously, Samsung offered a few Galaxy S25 features to the Galaxy S24 series with One UI 7 beta 4 including Log Video and AI Filter. It remains to see whether these two features will come to older devices.
